Priscilla and Stampin Sisters challenges this week

The sketch layout for this card is from Priscilla's Midnight madness and the vintage theme is from Stampin Sisters in Christ. The picture doesn't show the distressing very much but I distressed the DP with Tim Holtz inks for the antiqued look. The beautiful image is from Crafty Secrets floral collection. I'm so excited that Crafty Secrets is coming out with some gorgeous floral images and larger ones as well.  They have several new things coming out in Feb and I can't wait!!  I ran the shimmer bazill paper thru the cuttlebug and added some MS punched butterflies, some pretty bling from Michaels and the ribbon is from Really Reasonble Ribbon. Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out the blogs and stores for all the goodies to make this card.

Split Coast 316 and Stampin Sister in Christ

I made this card today for the two challenges.  The layout is from Split Coast 316 and the challenge for Stampin Sisters in Christ is to use something new. I just received these beautiful stamps from Heartfelt Creations spring grouping.  Colored with copics, cuttlebug background and some bling from Michaels. Be sure to check out the gorgeous creations on all the blogs that I have links for.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday and Crafty Secrets

Flourishes challenge this week is to make a larger card, I always make a 5x7 or 5-6 inch square card so this was an easy one!  I used their peacock image with a spellbinders frame and some pretty DP and added some prima flowers with a MS leaf punch.  The next card is for Crafty Secrets one layer only challenge, boy that was a tough one!! I scored the card and added their pretty birds from the Birds and botanicals journal notes. Added some bling and that's it.

Creative Belli Challenge 109 anything beginning with the letter "P"

I chose Purple for my challenge on Creative Belli Blog.  I used some purple swirl paper that unfortunately I can't find any more. I guess Paper Parachute went out of business. The pretty hearts and corner paper is from The Glitter Girls in the UK, the paper is an irridescent tissue paper and I glue it to cardstock so that it works better in the punches. The shimmer and changing colors on this paper is gorgeous.   The heat dies are spellbinders, corners are Marianne dies and Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

Saying is also from this Faith Collection.  Spellbinders die cuts and some gems from Michaels that I cut apart.  The pretty Background DP is from Graphic 45 springtime collection.  Be sure and check out the other gorgeous cards on their blog.  Thanks for stopping by.

Stylish blogger award

Wow Samara thank you so much for the honor.  Eight things about myself huh?
Well after years of moving all over I'm settled or stuck in a small town in the midwest, which really is NOT my style, I miss the Denver area every day.  I think I thrive on comotion and always having things to do.
We have 2 grown boys, they always give me joy and headaches as well, LOL
I am an animal lover but not so much in the house anymore. I still have two cats inside and feed quite a few outside.  I love little cuddly dogs but am gone too much to have one now.
I fell in love with Me and Carrie Lou stamps years ago and still love them  but the group disolved and I have gone on to other companies now. I love pretty and elegant cards, don't care much for cutesy stuff at all.
I usually will chose soft colors for my cards, once in a while I wil break out the bold stuff but more often the pastels etc.
I'm indpendent to a fault but that comes from years of living on my own and raising the kids on my own when hubby was gone in the military and now a contractor overseas.  He will tell you it's jsut easier to let me make the decisions and not argue, LOL
I've had many jobs over the years, hairdresser, secretary at different places and the last employment I had was with the Chamber of Commerce and I loved it.  I miss the people and tourists coming in all the time, it's always so much fun to meet new friends.  Thanks Samara this was fun!!! I will pass on the award!!

Something old, something new

Our challenge today on Our daily bread blog is to use something old and new. The flowers, leaf punch and pink swirls are old, the stamp set of butterflies and large butterfly with matching die cut are new sets from ODBD. They are just beautiful!! The pretty scalloped circle is a new die cut froom Marianne dies.  Prima flower to finish this off with some small glittered pearls. The background paper is from Prima also. The color picks for this are from Prima's blog today, I added a touch of pink into mine.

Crafty secrets using up some scraps

Our challenge this week is to use some of those scraps we all have. I am using several scraps on this card, the brown behind the images and even the gems are a piece leftover from cutting up a larger piece of gems. All images are crafty secrets. The second card is also using some scrap pieces I had and cuttlebug embossing them. The heart border is a large MS punch, some pretty lace and gems and prima flowers finish this card.

Go with all your heart

I love this image from Flourishes, the technique is painting with stickles on split coast, Flourishes was to use flowers and the other challenge for them was red, pink and white. The sketch is from Priscialla's midnight madness.  I stamped the image in memento black, used copics to color it and then went over all of it with stickles, cotton candy on the flowers, lime green on the leaves and patina on the bird. I used the dies direct die cuts from Cheery Lynn designs for the shapes, gems from Michaels and ribbon from Reasonable ribbon's monthy club.  Please check out the links for these wonderful blogs and the inspiration on each of them. Reasonable ribbon is having a giveaway check it out.

Bring back the Beautiful Vintage

Our challenge this week on Flourishes blog was to make a vintage looking card. I chose this gorgeous new set from Flourishes, colored with copics and some pretty DP and bling added to it. Don't you love the shape of this card, it's made using the new dies direct from Cheery Lynn Designs and you can make this 5.5 inch square card without having to buy a new machine. I just cut the paper folded it over and made sure the very top of the design was above the crease line. I love the fact that I can have many different shaped cards now without having to spend hundreds of dollars on new machines.  These are from XL series and you get several sizes on each design.  This card is made using the French Flair and scalloped French Flair set.  Thanks for stopping by.

French Flair with Crafty Secrets

I just love these new large dies from Cheery Lynn Designs   I used a 6x12 piece of CS and folded it over, left the top die cut off just a little so the card would stay together and then used the smaller sizes of the scalloped and plain to finish the card. This darling image is from Crafty Secrets garden stamps.  I added a double bow and colored some pearls with my copics.  Hope you are having a fabulous New Year's day.
